"Cyber Party"

There’s a cyber party going on at author Stephanie Kuehnert’s blog, and it’s going on all month long to celebrate the release of her cool novel, Ballads of Suburbia. (love that title!)

Here’s what Ballads is about:

Kara hasn’t been back to Oak Park since the end of junior year, when a heroin overdose nearly killed her and sirens heralded her exit. Four years later, she returns to face the music. Her life changed forever back in high school: her family disintegrated, she ran around with a whole new crowd of friends, she partied a little too hard, and she fell in love with gorgeous bad-boy Adrian, who left her to die that day in Scoville Park….

Amid the music, the booze, the drugs, and the drama, her friends filled a notebook with heartbreakingly honest confessions of the moments that defined and shattered their young lives. Now, finally, Kara is ready to write her own.

Sounds totally awesome!

To help Steph celebrate, I wrote a lit ballad for my character Kara Martinez from Invisible Touch. Read the ballad and comment to win a copy of IT, and let know what you think!

Just a reminder of how this works:

Through the month of October, I’ll be posting an author secret and giveaway every day except for Sundays. You will have the week to post a comment on the author’s secret, then on that following Sunday I will announce the winners for the week. Then the next week we start again with a new group of talented authors.

Here is the new line up:

Don’t forget…

If you help spread the word through the month of October about the Secret Fates Extravaganza (by sharing a link http://secretfates.blogspot.com + the promo video) on your blog, myspace or facebook, and leave a comment on the first Secret Fates post with a link to the blog or post or telling me how you helped, you’ll be entered to win a copy of GRAFFITI GIRL and INVISIBLE TOUCH by me, and your pick of one of Secret Fates Extravaganza participating authors’ novels. (If you’ve already read one of my books I’ll replace it with one of the author’s novels, too. Either way, you win 3 books.) The more you spread the word, the better chances of winning!

Jenny’s secret is now posted

I’m excited to read more secrets! Hope you are too. :)

"Take A Pic Right Now…"

I saw this on Barb Ferrer’s and Megan Crane’s blogs and said what the hay!

Take a picture of yourself right now.
don’t change your clothes, don’t fix your hair…just take a picture.
post that picture with NO editing.
post these instructions with your picture.

Here I am, sans make-up and still drinking my morning cafe. :)

On another note, check out Linda Gerber’s Cyber Launch this week with 17 authors guest blogging and giving away books. Read my story on how the Chevelle in Invisible Touch ties in with my own teen years, and leave a comment for a chance to win a copy of Touch. :)

"Embarrassing Moments + Student Government"

And we are off to chat about embarrassing moments and participating in student government…

Micol Ostow has put together a cool cyber launch for her latest novel, POPULAR VOTE. She’s gathered YA authors dishing the good stuff as well as giveaways this week.

Here’s what POPULAR VOTE is about…

Erin Bright is pretty, polished, and popular–the perfect First Daughter. Her father is the mayor of their town, so photo shoots and Inauguration balls are a part of her life. In high school, Erin is politically involved as well; her handsome boyfriend has been student council president for the past two years. But THIS election season, things change. When Erin suddenly gets passionate about an environmental cause, she decides to run AGAINST her boyfriend…and to challenge what her dad stands for! Can Erin convince her friends, and herself, that she has what it takes to lead?

Sounds good, doesn’t it??

I’m giving away a copy of Graffiti Girl for Micol’s cyber party. Wish I had Invisible Touch ready and waiting but hopefully in a couple more weeks! Leave a comment for the other author cool giveaways @ http://micolz.livejournal.com.
