"one creative individual I will miss"

“It’s amazing, Molly. The love inside, you take it with you.” ~ Patrick Swayze (Ghost)

I am merely one of hundreds of thousands of fans of the entertainer, Patrick Swayze. I did not know the real man. I only knew what many of us knew—the talented individual on screen.

This year has lost many iconic greats, creative people that in one way or the other made a significant stamp on our world. I don’t know if it’s because I am so connected to the world events by my computer, but the losses in 2009 have astounded me.

Patrick Swayze was an amazing talent. I enjoyed his acting, dancing, singing, and unique walk for many years. The roles he chose were so strong that they were unforgettable. And I wonder, just because I have always been in awe of the characters he played on film, does that mean I liked him as a person?

I guess in someway because the roles he chose in the films The Outsiders, Red Dawn, Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Roadhouse, Point Break had portrayed leaders with personal demons inside, made me think maybe that is how he lived his life. I don’t know.

He was married to the same woman for 34 years, someone who shared his interests of creativity, love, and life. I have been with my husband for 13 years and I can’t imagine my life without him. It is sad to know his wife and family are grieving for him.

One thing I did not know about Patrick Swayze was his battle with alcoholism. Again, something that made him a real person with faults, not just a iconic figure on screen. Whenever I watched his interviews they were always honest, spiritual, and positive.

He is one creative individual I will miss seeing in the spotlight.

"Calling Saved By The Bell Fans!"

Oh my gosh!

So how many Saved By The Bell fans do we have out there?

[[Me raising hand]]

hahaha!

Late night host Jimmy Fallon is doing his best to put together a Saved By The Bell Reunion and last night he had Zack Morris on his show. What, you might ask? Zack Morris is the character who Mark-Paul Gosselaar played on the show. Right?

Well, not on the Jimmy Fallon show!

Watch this clip! Saved By The Bell fans will laugh and remember the show very well! And I have feeling Jimmy Fallon will succeed with this reunion…

"Random Stuff"

Happy Friday, Everyone!

Just some random stuff today…

– I’m on Facebook. Yes, I took the plunge, as if I didn’t already have 100 cyber pages. What’s one more? The site is way different than myspace, but after I explored the day away and used the apps, I’ve gotten used to it a little. Friend me here!

– YA author Linda Gerber interviews me on her blog today for Freebie Friday. She’s giving away a $10 certificate to a lucky commenter. Check it out.

– Did anyone watch Supernatural last night? Very dark humor. (Don’t read on if you plan to watch it.) The scenario was a fountain that was granting real wishes. One wish was by a little girl who wanted her Teddy Bear to be real, well the fountain would grant the wish with a bad twist and the Teddy Bear became real with emotional problems. It cried all the time and drank alcohol. It was so depressed it tried to shoot himself in the head, but of course, he’s made of stuffing so he failed. A suicide attempt is definitely not a laughing matter, but when a doll made out of stuffing tries it… :)

"Busy + Tuesday Night TV"

Life is super busy right now. It’s also been a little tough to write, but what am I gonna do?
Just write. :)

I watched the season premier of NCIS.

It was good, but I missed seeing most of the gang through out the hour. I realize the episode was about bringing them back together and finding the latest bad guy, but still. I’m hoping next week will be even better when they try to get DiNozzo back.

Now, for The Mentalist.

Really good! Simon Baker aka Patrick Jane is awesome. He knows how to push people’s buttons and he used to be a psychic scam artist. He is not a real psychic but an awesome observer and puzzle solver. He has dark regrets and past pain and the ultimate enemy to one day catch. Definitely tune in to this one!

I’m still watching 90210, but I get to watch the encore tonight. :)

"Who will it be??"

oh, oh,oh. On 90210, Kelly Taylor’s father of her child will be revealed next week…

Yes, it has to be for ratings, but who cares! It’s all about the fun. haha.

So here are the clues:

1) The father and Kelly have a high school history together.
2) They hooked up 4 years ago.
3) He lives in Belize.

I’ve read that Brandon just wants to direct, Dylan and Steve, don’t feel like coming back, and that the father of the child will make an appearance. But I’m hoping the father isn’t someone I don’t remember. *snicker*

Hmm, not much to go on.

Brenda is to spill the beans on September 16th. :)

"90210"

Okay, who tuned into 90210 last night?

Overall, I really enjoyed the show and the introduction to all the characters, and think it has potential for lots of juicy story lines.

There were a few awkward moments. I’m not an actor, could never be one, but I have the experience as a viewer when acting comes off natural and other times not so much. But the show and actors will likely all come together nicely as time goes on.

A few random thoughts…

Rob Estes, aka Harry Wilson. I have to admit I am a Rob Estes fan and he plays the perfect dad and principal for this show.

His wife, Laurie Loughlin was a little boring. I like her, but her role has no conflict as of yet. I mean, she seemed so easy with her husband that he has a secret child from another woman somewhere. That his ex keeps calling him. I’m hoping they’ll spice it up for her.

The grandmother is a riot. She adds that sparkle and humor to the show.

Ethan is handsome and he started off a jerk and ended up redeeming himself as a good guy. Like him already.

The main kids, Annie and Dixon…they were tried and true nice, but it’s hard to feel much for them yet. They are still in awe of Beverly Hills and having a blast.

Love Silver, Kelly Taylor’s sister. She’s original and natural.

Navid is funny and original.

The meet with Kelly and Brenda was a little forced, I think. Like you could sense they weren’t comfortable even though they were trying to be. haha. Hopefully that smooths out.

Love the teacher and coach, Ryan Matthews. He’s going to be the laid back, tell it like it is guy.

Naomi is beautiful and plays the perfect, spoiled teen. I’m sure she’ll stir up lots of trouble.

Ty’s character is iffy for me too.

Rob Thomas, writer of Veronica Mars, is one of the writers and it maybe wishful thinking but I kept having the feeling that there was a touch of Rob Thomas there, and there, with certain characters. haha.

Definitely, tuning in on Tuesdays. :)

"Quotes on TV"

Quotes on TV today! Gees, it was the busiest weekend ever. Or so it felt like. *sigh* I have to shape up a synopsis on a refreshed proposal then send to my agent. I’m taking my time with this one because I’m moving into a new subgenre. It’s a little scary writing out of your comfort zone, but sometimes you just got to take the leap, you know? :) *raising coffee cup* Here’s to leaping!

David Letterman
“Everyone has a purpose in life. Perhaps yours is watching television.”

From “Taxi”
“The great thing about television is that if something important happens anywhere in the world, day or night, you can always change the channel.”

Orson Welles
“I hate television. I hate it as much as I hate peanuts. But I can’t stop eating peanuts.”

David Frost
“Television enables you to be entertained in your home by people you wouldn’t have in your home.”

Frank Lloyd Wright
“TV is chewing gum for the eyes.”

"Rob Thomas back to teen drama?"

Nearly done with my latest proposal…

I just had to pop back in when I heard the news that Rob Thomas (the awesome creator of Veronica Mars) is in talks about writing a spin-off of the 90′s drama 90210. (Picture my eyes going big here.) Yes, I was a serious 90210 fan back in my teen days.

I can’t imagine what the show would be like at all. If it’s going to have Rob Thomas’s unique characters, I can only hope it happens.

“Veronica Mars” creator Rob Thomas is in talks to pen the project, which has been put on the fast track by the network.

Details about the spinoff — including which if any of the characters on the original series will make the transition to the new show — remain sketchy. CW is expected to make a decision whether to order a pilot by the end of the month.

The spinoff is being produced by CBS Paramount Network TV, which absorbed original series producer Spelling TV two years ago.

Sources said “90210″ creator Darren Star is not involved.

CAA, which packaged the original “90210,” is said to have been the mastermind behind the idea of spinning off the hit series. The spinoff would bring Thomas back to CW, where his acclaimed series “Veronica Mars” ended its three-year run last spring.

[...] This would be the second spinoff from “90210,” which aired on Fox from 1990-2000. The Star-created “Melrose Place” had a successful seven-year run on Fox. It didn’t feature any major characters from “90210.”

A teen soap about privileged youths living in Beverly Hills would be a perfect companion to CW’s buzzworthy freshman drama “Gossip Girl,” which revolves around rich teens living in Manhattan.

"Big Brother 9 & The Strike"

Big Brother is back!

With the Writer’s Strike television has suffered a hard blow. Reality TV has had to save the stations’ audiences. Big Brother is usually a summer series, and now it’s back early with its first Winter Edition.

The good news is that the Writer’s Strike is over, writers will be back to work, and most of the shows will return with a few episodes in Spring.

Some not so lucky, such as Bionic Woman, Big Shots, and Journeyman. I’d lost interest in Bionic Woman, but thought Journeyman was a strong show.

I’m hoping for Moonlight to make it back this season, but it looks like we’ll have to wait for Heroes and Chuck to return in the fall. And let’s not forget Jericho has returned! Let’s hope it airs strong with the show’s seven episodes!

"10 Box Office Hits for 2007"

I hope everyone had a great Holiday! I did and now I’m tweaking INVISIBLE, and laying out my story on a board to see if things are matching up and making sense. The house is a mess, holiday chaos everywhere, but I need to get INVISIBLE to my agent right after the New Year, and tweak more, including my agent’s thoughts, for my editor deadline by January 15th. But this little list still happened to catch my eye–seeing as I’m movie obsessed–the Top 10 box office Hits for 2007.  I’ve seen 8/10. :)
