, The day I stop learning, is the day they put me in the cold, hard grnoud. I have tried, throughout my life, to learn, see, hear, feel, or do something new every day. Some days this works better than others. I’m currently working on leaving my comfort zone at least for short periods of time. I found it easy to read articles, attend classes, and generally do things to get a backgrnoud for fiction writing. I’d written before, but with a BS in electrical engineering, non-fiction was all I wrote. Now, I’m not only writing to let loose the creatures inside me, but with thoughts of publication. But the transition to fiction still ongoing has neither been easy nor quick. One of the best ways I’ve found to incite my creativity is to find the child within . A child sees things with new eyes, approaches things with innocence, and just likes to have fun. I found, that as my children grew, I could bring back or open new places inside myself where my own creativity lurked. With the youngest now in college, it’s not as easy now, but there are still places inside where pockets of creativity have hidden. And, I’m going to dig them out.
